This was the third episode, featuring America’s favorite (only?) inappropriate banana slug from the East Coast, often considered to be the most universal of smups, i.e. “that’s the voice that’s in my head as I walk around city streets”. There’s a German word (which I forget) meaning “joy at the misery of others”, which might apply to Al, though he’s also infinitely chummy in his cruelties, like most of us.
